RULESGeneralPlease join your first account as your
member account; this is the account you will use to post out of character.
i. Boundless was created with a primary goal in mind: to have fun! I was tired of seeing all of these uppity roleplay games with stringent specifications that had to be met "just so".
We're playing a game, not running a country!ii. Naturally, the most important rule of any community: give respect, and you'll receive it. Enough said. Staff reserves the right to exercise administrative action as they see fit. If you have a problem with a staff member, please contact Lindsay directly.
iii. Keep your language in mind. We're not all scurvy-ridden pirates, here! An occasional swear is fine, as well as in posts, but don't go overboard (no pun intended).
iv. Keep in-character drama out of the community. Make sure to talk things over before playing out a plot with any of your fellow members if you plan to write something drastic, such as killing or anything of the sort.
v. Activity checks will take place every two months, because we understand that people can be busy. If you do not reply by the following month, you will be considered on hiatus. Your characters will not be deleted, but they will not be active. You may come and reclaim them at any time.
vi. If you run into any issues with fellow members, please be mature and try to settle it amongst yourselves like adults. If this is not possible, or serious slander or other inappropriate behavior has taken place, please contact a staff member immediately explaining the situation.
vii. Business with the staff and yourself is considered private and not up for public discussion with other members, to keep drama from ensuing.
viii. Avatars must be at maximum 150 x 150 pixels. Signatures may be any size so long as they do not radically stretch the forum. Advertising or linking to other sites within your signature is also forbidden.
ix. We encourage users to have active participation on Boundless, both in-character and in the community. Aim for at least two in-character posts per month.
In-Characteri. Please join with your username as your character's name in all capital letters. Repeat for each of your characters; however, please only take on as many characters as you can handle. You need not create a character application, so after you post an introduction thread in the Relax board you may begin posting right away. Though we are applicationless, it is highly encouraged to post a collective thread of all your characters information on the Porfolios board. In addition, please reply to the
CURRENT CHARACTERS Thread with your new characters so we can keep track. Users are permitted ONE main account, which can be any username, upon joining the first time.
ii. Though we would prefer intermediate level of writing, there is no word count specification or post count that must be met. We understand that writing is not necessarily easy for everyone; all we expect is for you to do your best. Our only request is that your in-character posts be a few well-written sentences to a paragraph, and a few (three or more) in-character posts per month is considered active.
iii. "Dead" threads are considered such if there has been no activity on them for one month. They will be moved to the Archive to keep the forum looking pretty. There, they may be retrieved at any time by asking a staff member. Characters and folders will never be archived.
iv. Although it may sound unusual to some, we do not have face claims. In fact, we prefer that celebrity faces not be used at all. This being said, it follows that we highly suggest against using celebrity faces for characters. This is the Upper Peninsula, Michigan: we're not movie stars by any means. Plus, if you spend the time searching for a unique image, it gives your character that much more originality.
v. Unlike some other games,Boundless is not run solely on canon and site-wide plots. As mentioned, we were founded with the idea of relaxed role-play in mind, and encourage members to create their own plots. This is not to say we will not be hosting events!
vi. Nothing is necessarily "banned" from posting; the only specification is that you don't get too graphic with your romance. Use your own discretion when posting. Keep it PG-17.
vii. Of course, you know that realism is key in playing any real-life based role-play. Refrain from god-modding, power playing, and so forth. Use your common sense, as I know you all have.
viii. Just to keep things mildly appropriate, your character must be the age of 18 or over to have children, and it must be discussed by both sides out of character.
ix. When posting, please do not use extremely small or large fonts, or text colors that clash drastically with the skin.
x. In-game time is two months per season.
xi. As a general rule, all threads are considered "open" unless they are marked otherwise with [private] in the subject. This means that anyone is allowed to reply. This is "organic" and "open" roleplay; foster creativity!
xii. Images on the forum must be at most 476 pixels wide. If bigger, please use a link.
xiii. Characters are only allowed to post in-character. Likewise, you must have an out-of-character member account to post on out-of-character boards.
xix. Liquid time is allowed (posting with a character in more than one thread at a time). Just make sure you can handle yourself and the events make logical sense chronologically. For example, you cannot be posting in a thread that takes place before, say, a wedding, and talk about how great the wedding was. Make sense?
If you have any questions regarding rules or an amendment you'd like to see made, please message Lindsay with your concerns. Your input is important to us! This is your game just as much as it is ours, and we want you to be a part of it.Fly, little bird!Great, you read them -- right? Good. Now, first order of business: go introduce yourself on the Housewarming board, you silly goose. Tell us about yourself! This is a mandatory first post before gameplay can begin. You're now ready to begin your life in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan.
